Dear friends,
I would first like to say “THANK YOU” for choosing Galaxy’s Get Connected platform for your volunteer engagement and management needs. Since our inception in 2009, Galaxy’s vision has been to create simple web-based solutions that help nonprofits…
This is why it is both exciting and fulfilling see that so many of you are having just such an experience with Get Connected. Here is a quote from Anna Kaye at the United Way of Rock River Valley in Illinois:
“The community of Rockford, Illinois has been waiting a long time for a program like Get Connected. Since we launched the site in October, we have received nothing but positive feedback from all different kinds of users. Our next generation of volunteers loves the social media component and our non-profit community is thrilled that we now have a one-stop-shop for getting connected. We know it will only continue to make our community a better place to live.”
-Anna Kaye, United Way of Rock River Valley
It is with this vision in mind that we have decided to create a blog that will be devoted to “Getting the most out of Get Connected” and, ultimately, to the success of your volunteer program. Once a month you will get a short note from us in your email inbox with a link to a new blog post. The post will contain useful articles and videos that will share Get Connected tips & tricks, customer success stories, best practices, and more. From time to time we may also include a poll that will help us gather your feedback and suggestions for bettering the Get Connected experience. And because we know how busy you are, we promise to share only the best, most relevant, and most valuable content in the Get Connected blog. Our goal is to help, not to overwhelm!
Last but by no means least, we have a special gift for you from Galaxy’s Director of Training and Customer Success, Andy Gmitter. If you have ever emailed or called Galaxy then you probably know Andy already. You may not know that before Andy came to Galaxy he served as an AmeriCorps VISTA and that he is truly passionate about helping nonprofits build successful volunteer programs. If you will click on this link you will see the latest evidence of this passion- a Press Kit that Andy has created which is full of best practices and ideas for making your National Volunteer Month a big success. As I’m guessing you already know, April is National Volunteer Month and it begins this Monday! The Press Kit contains sample messages for you to send to announce and promote National Volunteer Month, social media strategies, and suggestions for focusing Get Connected needs. Andy (and the rest of us here at Galaxy) hope you will find this to be an extremely helpful resource both before and after Volunteer Week.
And so concludes our first Get Connected blog post of the year. Thank you once again for giving us the opportunity to help you grow volunteerism in your community. We wish you great success during National Volunteer Month and beyond!
Sincerely,
Doss Church
